Chef de Cuisine

We are seeking an accomplished Chef de Cuisine to lead our kitchen operations at Downtowner at Arrive Albuquerque. This role involves managing daily kitchen tasks, collaborating with our Culinary Director, and maintaining high meal quality standards while controlling costs and staff morale.

About Downtowner at Arrive Albuquerque
Located on Central Avenue in Downtown Albuquerque, Downtowner at Arrive Albuquerque is a beautifully renovated historic hotel and neighborhood hub. This 137-room boutique hotel features modern southwestern-inspired charm, comfortable accommodations, and upscale amenities.

Responsibilities
As a Chef de Cuisine, you will be responsible for:


  • Managing an efficient kitchen operation on a day-to-day basis
  • Developing a skilled kitchen brigade that adheres to food preparation standards
  • Ensuring the quality and consistency of all dishes prepared and served
  • Learning our menu, products, and systems inside and out
  • Collaborating with restaurant and hotel teams to ensure productivity and a great guest experience
  • Complying with food labeling, storage, and temperature control protocols
  • Learning the entire menu to describe, create, and train kitchen staff
  • Carrying out tasks in a timely manner to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen
  • Demonstrating a keen interest in the industry and current trends
  • Communicating clearly and professionally with the team
  • Supporting new team members and offering advice and guidance


    Requirements
    To be successful in this role, you will need:

    • An understanding of stock control in the kitchen
    • An interest in the industry and a willingness to stay up-to-date with current trends
    • The ability to adapt during busy or quiet services
    • A full understanding of your role and the ability to carry it out effectively
    • The ability to work effectively with the team
    • Strong communication and time management skills
    • The ability to prioritize tasks and manage resources efficiently
    • Able to seek guidance and support from senior team members when needed
    • The ability to stand or walk for a minimum of eight hours
    • The ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform other physical tasks
