Responsibilities: Responsibilities:
Prepares food.
Responsible for quality end product, portion control, cost control,
accuracy in tray assembly, and distribution to patients, staff and
visitors. Sets up transportation cart. Retrieves trays from patient
s rooms as needed, as well as delivers special trays for patients,
staff and floor as needed.
Stocks and rotates supplies in storage area. Records temperatures
of all equipment/foods daily and as needed. Assembly of necessary
ingredients for production along with requisitioning items needed
as well as proper storage of all foods and nonfood items.
Responsible for department sanitation and regulations. Washes pots
and pans, containers and utensils manually along with all dishes,
trays and utensils through the use of the automated dishwasher.
Completes/Assists with processing all necessary paperwork
pertaining to the patient and the department.
Promotes a positive work environment and facilitates the training
of less experienced staff.
Possess a basic understanding of therapeutic modification of diets,
although the cook remains under supervision. Must be able to apply
knowledge of job skills in a self- starting manner.
Open and close the department when Manager is absent.
Orders food and supplies as needed in supervisors absence.
Qualifications: Other information:
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Prefer three years experience as a cook and other food preparation
items, or short order grill work. Must be able to read recipes,
production records, temperature logs, and tally forms. Must be able
to cook large volume and based on necessary diet information.
