  As an LPN on the Adult Post Surgical Unit , you will provide direct patient care in the acute care setting of the emergency department or inpatient area utilizing various nursing skills and established standards of care at the direction of a registered nurse. Patient Population: Adult to Geriatric, GI Surgery, Urology, Ortho except hips and knees, fractures, general surgery, nephrology, dialysis, ostomy, hysterectomy, oral surgery, some cancer, NG tube insertion, Foley catheters, sometimes Peds overflow NO TELE, general medical patients-sepsis, incision, and drainage. *average length of stay is 4 days Qualifications: Other information:
  *High School Diploma or GED
  *Practical Nursing Formal Education approved by the NM Board of Nursing
  *Licensed Practical Nurse-NM
  *BLS required
  *PDS IV Certification course (within orientation period)
  *Basic Cardiac Arrythmias (BCA) for areas where cardiac telemetry monitoring is used (prior to ACLS)
  *ACLS (within 6 months of being hired) for areas where required
