Job Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our Women's Care team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. In this role, you will provide exceptional nursing care to patients in an ambulatory setting, ensuring adherence to our hospitals' and departmental policies and procedures.Key Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care and patient education to designated patients, including neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groups.
• Assist in patient needs assessment, take vital signs and medical history, and develop patient care goals.
• Administer medication and monitor results, including approved IV medications according to policy, via the Five Rights.
• Perform treatments at the nursing level, assist medical staff with complicated procedures, and follow up on diagnostic results.
• Orient new staff, participate in patient care conferences, and participate in quality assurance activities.
• Ensure maintenance of patient areas, assist in reception areas as needed, and document all patient care activities.Qualifications:Essential:
  • Program Graduate
  • LPN Accredited Program Graduate
  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuer within 30 days
  • Licensed Practical Nurse in NM or reciprocal agreementPreferred Qualifications:
    • Bilingual English, Spanish, Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo
    • 2 years directly related experienceWorking Conditions:Heavy Work: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects or people.Essential:
      • Sig Hazard: Chemicals, Bio Hazardous Materials require PPE
